Abrams Falls
Abrams Creek and Falls in Cades Cove can be enjoyed via a 5 mile roundtrip moderate hike off of Cades Cove Loop Road. The 25 foot high falls plunges into a deep pool which has a strong undercurrent. Both the falls itself and the pool are very dangerous so enjoy their beauty from a safe distance! Abrams Falls was probably named for Old Abraham, a Cherokee who lived near Cades Cover in an Indian village, where the otters frolicked and played. River otters have been reintroduced here and can sometimes be spotted along with rainbows above the falls!
